搜索歷史
2021年3月20日，用戶 KillerJack 將這首歌曲上傳到WatZatSong上。之後，第一個回復該帖子的用戶 Mylifeis4me[1] 要求 KillerJack 提供更長的歌曲樣本。一天後，KillerJack 提供了完整的長達8分33秒的Vocaroo音頻鏈結。[2]在那之後，KillerJack 有很長一段時間不再上線。
三年後，KillerJack 回到WatZatSong上並提供了關於這首歌的更多信息，其中該用戶稱該歌曲很可能來自一部2010年之前發布的YouTube視頻，之後 KillerJack 又不再上線。[3]
在Fond my Mind Discord伺服器里的I'll Give You Life頻道上，Mylifeis4me、DefyJoe和其他Discord用戶在發現 KillerJack 的電子郵箱地址指向巴西後，認為 KillerJack 很可能來自巴西。
2025年5月19日，Rain在另一個WatZatSong提問中發現了這首歌的完整版[4]。這個提問由用戶Tixio在2023年12月22日發布。Tixio在這個提問中附上了完整版歌曲的YouTube連結，該視頻由TeRBoozooka上傳於2014年9月9日，標題「Scratched Final Boss (Source unknown)」[5]，說明早在此時，歌曲的出處已不明確。Tixio認為：
這可能還有更多背後的故事，因為我聽說有人盜用了藝術家的作品，並將它作為自己的作品發在論壇上，據我所知，此人沒有聯繫方式，我也不知道他的名字。我確定它存在於某處。
在「Scratched Final Boss (Source unknown)」的視頻簡介中，提及了一個已失效的YouTube視頻，據推測後者由用戶RSNxHolic發布於2014年7月。
當天晚些時候，Rain發現了一段上傳於2009年7月25日的視頻使用了這首歌[6]。該視頻由用戶ILoveVideoGames12發布，內容是彈幕射擊遊戲《東方Project》的遊玩實況。視頻描述稱，這首歌最初由一個叫bjdestroyer的人發布，並認定這首歌是Fairuzonss的《Final Boss Comision》。
2010年至2020年，在網際網路上有人提到一個叫Fairuzons的YouTuber發布過音樂。然而，在他的第一個帳號被刪除後，他開了一個名為Fairuzonss的小號。人們發現他從網上盜用別人的歌曲並聲稱是他的作品。
最終，人們在網際網路檔案館找到了Fairuzons的Newgrounds帳號的存檔，該帳號因發布涉未成年的不當內容被刪除。這首歌於2008年初以「Final Boss FF8」（最終幻想8最終Boss）為題被發在Newgrounds音頻區[7]。
發現
2025年6月13日，Discord用戶Skyat向YouTube用戶Game Music Freak詢問這首歌的出處，後者稱這首歌是由一名名為Kiesca的日本音樂人創作的。隨後，Kiesca在X（原推特）被聯繫上，其稱這首歌其實是他創作的兩首不同的歌曲拼接而來，第一首是《Will Of The World》，第二首是《Metal Doll》，但他的電腦里沒有這兩首歌的音頻。
因Kiesca無法提供音頻，這個發現被認為尚有待驗證。不久後，Discord用戶backtodecember/fin找到了Kiesca的博客，儘管該博客在前一天晚上就被另一位用戶Murphy找到。經過發掘，用戶Basketry在該博客上找到了記載有《Metal Doll》歌詞的博文[8]，最終確認這首歌確實是Kiesca的《Will Of The World》和《Metal Doll》的拼接歌曲。Kiesca又名KiXca，以ヤンデレP的名義作為V家P主活躍，發表過《哀撃貴鋼-Aigekikikou-》、《赤い両手-Metal Dolls II-》等作品。
