概要
2021年2月12日，Reddit用戶e-robotic在tipofmytongue板塊中發帖稱想要尋找一段只有3秒的MV來自哪首歌曲，這段MV被意外錄在了自己嬰兒時期的錄像帶上。e-robotic透露自己是加拿大人，出生於1993年。MV片段中只有一句模糊的歌詞，「The world was so easy」是唯一能夠辨識的詞句。
同一天，Reddit用戶DO_FLETCHING在MV片段中看到NCN電視台的水印。該電視台於1995年1月1日開播，1996年9月14日後更名為CMT。此外，Reddit用戶Klevenisms204確定MV中出現的結他是1993年生產的Parker Fly。
2023年12月4日，e-robotic上傳了該錄像帶更長的片段。錄像帶上錄到了嬰兒時期的e-robotic、3秒的未知歌曲MV，以及一段1996年2月20日播出的Scotties Tournament of Hearts比賽實況錄像，這是一場加拿大舉辦的女子冰壺錦標賽。
發現
2024年2月20日，Reddit用戶Jadelly_Starchild聯繫了加拿大另類搖滾樂隊Sloan的一位貝斯手後，確認這首歌來自Big Picture樂隊。同一天，Reddit用戶leerosevere找到了該樂隊的專輯，確定這首歌的Big Picture的《Just Passin' By》。
次日，Big Picture樂隊的結他手Asif Illyas上傳了這首歌的完整版MV，但清晰度很低。
