2000年，音樂史學家 Irwin Chusid 發行了一張名為《Songs in the Key of Z》的合輯專輯。這張專輯包含了他所謂的「局外人音樂」，即那些不知道自己在創作歌曲的人創作的歌曲。這張專輯包含了一首名為《Curly Toes》的未知歌曲。據稱包含該歌曲的磁帶是從垃圾箱裏發現的，並且很可能是家用錄音。後來，Irwin Chusid 經證實了這一說法是錯誤的。
2010年2月19日，YouTube用戶 thetruerock 上傳了一部向 Bettie Page 致敬的視頻，而該用戶將這首歌曲用作該視頻的配樂。[1]

有一條線索是該歌曲由 Elizabeth Lomax 演唱，因為她的歌曲風格與這首歌曲類似。但這一線索尚未得到證實。
