2004年8月以前，一个名叫Oskar的用户将该歌曲的31秒片段上传到网站hot.ee/italodisco/，当时的标题为“I Can Make You Smile If You Sometimes Cry”。同年3月20日，hot.ee网站的拥有者Marek在音乐识别网站spiritofradio.ca重新上传了这个片段请求网友识曲，但没有收到任何回复。
2009年10月4日，spiritofradio.ca用户Konstantinos又一次重新上传了这个片段，但没有发现明显的线索，对这首歌搜索再次被放弃。
2023年3月4日，用户JayKay将这个片段发布在YouTube上，至此该歌曲获得了一些人气。
2023年12月出现了一种理论，认为这首歌的演唱者是俄罗斯另类摇滚乐队Нeчтo，其主唱的声线与这首歌的演唱者类似，音乐风格也比较接近。

2024年2月14日，有人联系到了最初将歌曲片段发布在互联网上的Oskar，他将这首歌的更长片段上传到YouTube，并称这首歌是20世纪90年代中期至21世纪初在爱沙尼亚录制的。
2024年2月25日，Reddit用户regingryzor在研究20世纪90年代的爱沙尼亚广播电台时，发现了一个名为Martin Jaanus的YouTube频道，该频道上传了Top Raadio广播电台播放的歌曲和广告录音。
在联系了Martin Jaanus后，他认为这首歌可能是爱沙尼亚流行音乐家Sven Lõhmus的早期作品，当时他和他的兄弟有一个名为Beatboy的乐队。Martin Jaanus还附上了一首名为Girl的类似歌曲的链接。
2024年2月26日，Sven Lõhmus本人确认这首歌是他1992年创作的《Bravely》。次日，Discord用户Mystic65在Soulseek network上发现了全曲，并将全曲上传到YouTube。
